Dona Flora

stands for hard-wearing, practical and comfortable clothing for modern, active gardeners and other craftswomen. The young company from Schaffhausen was born out of the conviction that this type of fashion fulfils a need. In our many years of professional activity in the green sector, as well as our experience as hobby gardeners, we have always lacked the right workwear for the active gardener with an affinity for design.

Umweltfreundliche Herkunft – kurze Wege

Environmentally friendly origin – short distances

Our work trousers are a design product that thoroughly deserve the designation “Swiss Made”, because they are cut, embroidered, fitted and sewn in Mendrisio by a team of women.

From Mendrisio, the finished trousers travel by train through the Gotthard to Schaffhausen, where they were designed – also by a team of women – and now await their use in the green.

Faire Arbeitsbedingungen

Fair working conditions

Dona Flora maintains close contact with its producers and we visit the production site regularly.
We can assure that the seamstresses have fair working conditions, be it in terms of health and safety, working hours, job security or pay.

Nett zu deiner Haut

Kind to your skin

Our trousers are specially designed for people with sensitive skin and allergy sufferers. The main fabric is organic (GOTS certified), the reinforcing knee fabric carries an OCS label and is impregnated PFC-free. They are therefore a real alternative to conventional gardening trousers, as they have no environmentally harmful and skin-irritating surface treatments and impregnations, e.g. with Teflon. The knee fabric of our trousers is water-repellent. Even our buttons and metal rings are nickel-free.

Dona Flora

Our workwear is designed and distributed in Schaffhausen.

Katharina Peyer Laube

Katharina

After gaining a degree in business administration and a diploma in landscape architecture, I turned my love and passion for gardening into a career some time ago. I have been a self-employed landscape architect since 2010 and have always been surprised by the unattractive or impractical garden clothing for women.

As a person with an eye for practicality, I had to put together my own workwear and, convinced that other female gardeners also lacked upmarket workwear, I founded Dona Flora.
